Looking for input on an offer
It also levels the playing field when comparing prices between dealers. Every dealership sells X-plan at exactly the same price and limited to $100 in fees. All you need to negotiate is the trade-in offer. Dealership can’t use smoke and mirrors.
Dealers make $995 commission when selling x-lan plus their 3% holdback at the end of the quarter. Plus many times there are volume bonuses quarterly. The best deal I’ve ever done was end of month at a large dealership. They needed to sell 1,200 vehicles one month to book a huge bonus. My deal was the 1200th deal the last day of the month. That was a clean deal and the first time I purchased without X-Plan.
I average over one new car/truck purchases per year. My 2019 F350 is my 6th new Ford truck purchase since 2015 and my 56th new car/truck purchase since 1969. All but one of my Ford trucks were purchased with X-plan. The only one that wasn’t was one that was a clean deal, no trade. I used out the door x-plan as a starting negotiation price point on that deal.
In 2004 i actually purchased a new Expedition trading in one Expedition just so I could cash in on my equity. I walked away with a $17,000 check and a new Eddie Bauer Expedition. That finance deal was at 0%. I took the check and paid off my home mortgage. That’s the last time I ha$ a mortgage balance.
YES, you can stack PCO with X-plan. Plus there are other incentives that can be stacked like standard Ford rebate, USAA cash etc.
Hear is my initial X-plan offer for my 2019 F350 Lariat. MSRP $74,015. X-plan discount $4,386, and $3,500 rebate ($500 Ford Cash rebate and $3,000 PCO)
Final deal also included $250 USAA cash.
Trade in offers between dealerships varied by over $6,000. My local dealer matched the best trade in offer and locked in the trade price while waiting the 10 weeks before new truck arrived.

EAA is a good organization. Normal 1st year membership fee is $40 but they are running a special rate of $30 for first year. They do good work promoting general aviation. Their Young Eagles program https://www.eaa.org/en/eaa/aviation-...eagles-program is just one example.

Thanks for your suggestions! I am looking at ordering one in the next several months, and like OP I am in no hurry either. Can you please verify my assumptions?
So I can join EAA today, and in 30 (or 60?) days I would be eligible for X-plan pricing plus $750 bonus cash offer?
In addition, I can stack any Ford cash rebate offer (currently $500) at the time of ordering?
If, at the time of delivery, Ford has a better cash rebate offer (say $2,000 for example), the 2K cash rebate will replace $500 rebate, and will be applied on top of X-plan pricing and EAA $750 bonus cash offer?
In addition, I can apply PCO on top of all that? And the PCO can be applied either at a time of ordering, or at delivery, depending on which PCO is greater?
And, I can apply USAA on top of it all? I thought USAA/Military/Student cash offers were canceled by PCO.
Thanks for your help!
As for the "fuel charge", my dealer put that on the original price summary a couple weeks ago in the same amount, $146. It was the first time I'd seen it in three separate price summaries from three separate dealerships. I said, "Say what? Fuel Charge! For what?" Turned out it was for delivery of the truck. HUH? I said, "That needs to come off." And it did.
Best of good fortune with your purchasing adventure. Mine ended last week when I ordered a 2019 F-350 6.7L CCLB Lariat Ultimate Package - MSRP $71,705, OTDP $66,103 including all fees ($378 DOC, $60 Temp. Lic. and BS-fees). That was after applying $1,750 off invoice: $500 under invoice dealer offer, $500 Rebate Cash from Ford and $750 PCO. The OTB price is minus sales tax since I'm taking delivery out-of-state and paying the tax directly to my county of residence where the sales tax is 2.65% less. The dealer offered to drive the truck to the next state where I'll meet them and document delivery out-of-state with a notary. I considered that SERVICE ABOVE AND BEYOND THE CALL OF DUTY.

When I ordered my F350 on 7/8 I had an X-plan PIN number as a retiree from former employer and a $3000 PCO certificate.
When I ordered the 2019 F350 it optioned out with
MSRP at $74,015
Invoice $69,536
X-Plan price $69,648.59,
Initial deal was $66,148.69 Plus Tax Tag and $100 dealer fee. ie $69,648.59-$3,500 rebates ($3000 PCO and $500 Ford Cash)
Shortly before delivery I realized my EAA membership had lapsed so I renewed it. It was not 60 days old by the time the truck arrived so I could not use EAA X-Plan or their $750 Coupon.
Shortly before delivery I told them I was a USAA member and the dealer found and applied another $250 USAA Rebate. So at delivery they applied $3,750 in rebates to reduce the X-Plan price The breakdown of the $3,750 in rebates was $3000 PCO + $250 USAA rebate + $500 Ford Cash.
So at delivery the dealer had already added the $250 USAA plus the $500 Ford cash and then $3,000 PCO. When he tried to add the $750 EAA it was rejected. I believe that $750 EAA coupon it would not stack with the $250 USAA. I didn't push it because my EAA membership was only a few weeks old and I didn't have a current EAA membership card showing 60 days of membership. . Had it been at least 60 days old then I would have tried to apply the EAA $750 before and instead of the $250 USAA rebate.

Initial Offer

Do dealers typically request deposit when ordering with them? If yes, what's the typical amount? And if not, should I avoid dealers that do?
Just trying to better understand ordering process and pricing. I have never done it in my life.

it it was simple.
No money changed hands until delivery. A legal contract requires 3 things, Offer, Acceptance and Consideration. A deposit is the Consideration. So leaving a refundable deposit would have made me more comfortable holding 5hem to 5he trade in offer. The X-plan price could not be modified. . I’ve purchased several trucks from the same sales manager so a handshake worked for me.
Go to NADA.COM and build the truck with all options. The NADA site was right on when I built mine.
