I have a 2013 6.2L with 85,000
engine light came on code was replace computer
Computer went bad, Replaced
Then same week engine light came back on replaced all 16 plugs, 8 wires and a burnt in half coil pack.
Drove 2 weeks no light
Light came back on and said computer bad again.
anyone else having issues?
I hate electrical problems. Been following the 6.2 since it came out and haven't heard of anyone else having this issue. I would assume it's a wiring issue. Check for rodent damage or wire damage in the engine bay
Checked wiring and cannot find any skent or broken.
looked under hood and dash.
Computer has a 2 year warranty and changing it back out.
Also going to replace the other 7 coil packs in case one is breaking down.
What lookskil is only 85,000 miles.
Someone mentioned a knock code, anyone know what that is?
My friend is the Ford truck service manager at local dealership.
Bought this motor because not supposed to have any problems or issues.
Said no bulletins about it.

Not a motor issue, it's an electrical issue. I know you said you checked all the wiring already, but I would check all of the chassis grounds and all the dead end harness connectors too. You know, all the options you wish you had but don't; Ford leaves the plugs in place and just caps them. The ones in the rear by the hitch are notorious for causing issues due to water intrusion.
Ive read on here a few times now for these year trucks..when you notice electrical problems check the wire harness that located behind the parking brake to be sure the connections are firmly plugged in. Apparently they can work loose.
I would try to pull codes, instead of just shotgunning parts. Unless you just like to practice swapping coil packs and plugs. The main harness plug under the dash, next to the emergency brake is a known culprit for intermittent electrical issues. "Popping" the brake release, and letting the pedal spring up freely when released is known to cause this main harness plug to work itself loose. Causing all kinds of mayhem. Check this plug. When I use my E-brake, I only release it with my foot holding down pressure on the pedal, and slowly raise my foot (and pedal) while holding out the brake release handle.
And it's a truck electrical issue, not an engine issue.
I have been pulling the Codes.
Say Replace Computer.
Have a Electrical Jumping sound under the Hood also
7 of the plugs were broken even with computer code only reading
Burnt in half coil pack also.
code said replace computer
replaced 16 plugs
replaced 8 wires
replaced burnt in half coil pack
replaced computer
I will check the wiring harness this evening
always same code.
THANKS
x2 on the wiring harness. A friend of mine who also has a 6.2 had his start giving him vehicle computer related codes. His harness was loose on the bottom side of the plug.
