I'm a long time Ford truck guy. I've lived all over the 'states, but was raised and am currently living in Minnesota. These trucks are amazing. I've quite literally had my life spared in 2 separate accidents by what I consider exemplary engineering, materials and manufacturing practices as an occupant in 2 different F150s. I was driving my 00 F150 XLT SC 4x4 when an Envoy hit my driver's side front wheel. That vehicle was traveling at 50 mph and neither of us saw each other. The other driver stated that they never touched the brakes prior to impact. I was wearing my seat belt and was able to walk away without a scratch. The truck was repaired and I put over 100k miles on it after the accident. The other incident was also in an F150 owned by a good friend. We were returning north from a Vikings / Packers game and hit some black ice just north of Hinckley. The truck spun approximately 180 degrees while sliding laterally toward the median. When we entered the soft median, somehow the rear end stuck and launched the truck (SC short bed 4x4) end over end, completing a full 360 degree roll and landed on the south bound lanes on all 4 wheels. All 3 of us were wearing seat belts and all 3 of us walked away without a scratch!
I offer my profound gratitude to all of the fine ladies and gentlemen of the Ford family.
