Intro-- another new guy here.
The last time I bought a Ford truck was way back in 1982- it was a 78 F-250
4x4 w/ 351m and 4 speed-- a real truck-- it is still going!!! Now, I just bought a '99 F-150 4x4 SC short box. Very nice truck. Have had other FoMoCo products and have been a ford fan all my life.
My 78 has been USED for everything from a wood hauler to a bull chaser and has never left me. It has hauled loads of wood out of the Missouri River badlands in excess of 30,000 lbs gross comb. weight. Ya read it right. I finally retired it this fall by giving it to one of my grandsons for a hunting truck.
Myself, I live up here in western North Dakota; am a retired oil well driller, and now am driving a big truck for a job. I had too many cars, so traded one of them for the '99. There isn't much on the older trucks that I haven't had apart at some time or another; now just have to learn to keep the "computerized" ones running.
This looks to me to be a great place to learn all about the things to know about
Ford trucks, and to keep them going strong. Later. Don
