Have an '05 E350 built as a Club Wagon, full headliner with lighting etc---which device controls the accessory delay function?
Once the engine is shut off the radio stays powered on for a few minutes or until the driver's door is opened. I'd like to eliminate this annoying function and have the radio power only when key is in run or accessory position. I can and would find a key-on only circuit and tap into that using a relay if absolutely necessary but if there's an easier way that'd be great.
FWIW the interior lighting seems to be part of this function but I've re-routed that circuit's wiring to operate in the "normal" way; turns on/off with door operation or headlight switch full rotation counter clockwise.
Don't know how you would do it easily. The radio and the power door locks are controlled by the accessory delay relay located in the underhood fuse box. The accessory delay relay is controlled by the microprocessor in the instrument cluster which is then tied into the communication network of the van.

I was afraid that was the case---that infernal instrument cluster seems to be one VERY important part of that chassis's wiring scheme.
I'll just find a circuit off the ignition switch hot in run or acc, insert a small relay and re-wire the Sony radio's power feed there.
