I am wanting to put some towing mirrors similar to yours on my 79 ford. Could you put some pictures of how yours are mounted. It looks like you left the wing vent functional???
Thanks Bruce

They are plates welded into the door, it allows the vent window to open about halfway. So it is partially functional.
I'm not sure if I'm aloud to put the link in here since it is not from a sponsored site. But I can pm you a link to a site that sells the plates with pre-drilled holes and all the needed hardware to install them

EDIT: disregard what I just said, I just now noticed that you want them on a 79, this kit is for the 87-97 trucks.

For the look you were going for, I think it looks REAL nice. First class job. Now, what's under that beautiful hood with the pins? Sandy

Thanks, I was just going to put a plate over the whole wing vent and do away with it. Might have to look into keeping them functional.

I like the idea of putting better tow mirrors on these truck, but I could never eliminate the wing window. They are one the reasons I like the older trucks, plus covering the wing windows creates a pretty big blind spot.
