The buyer is a legitimate company which buys used and junk cars. Obviously, since they buy sight unseen based solely on limited information (they won't even accept additional information if you try to give it to them), they sometimes overpay for vehicles. I'm not trying to trick them. No other similar company or junkyard will pay nearly as much for this vehicle.
I was simply trying to determine why their system let me input the vehicle as an XL, but then converted it to a base model based on the VIN. And whether there might be any way around the problem. There appears to be no solution. There system has a flaw in how it recognizes vehicle information and what information it allows to be input for different years/makes/models.
I have no idea whether the company's intent would be to offer their XL price or their base price for a 1994 Ford F150 non-XLT model if the system worked correctly.
