Hello forum. Just took delivery of wife's new F-250 Platinum long wheelbase. Previous truck was 1999 Expedition Eddie Bauer - still own it. Both trucks were bought online, factory orders, with the goal of avoiding the dealer in the sales process to the maximum degree possible. Amazing truck, except for B&O Play audio [sic].
First projects will be chrome reduction and audio (speaker) upgrades, and researching tonneau covers.

Just curious as to how/where you bought a new one online without involving a dealer. I know you can build one on Ford’s site, but everything ends up going through a dealer. Maybe I’m just misunderstanding how you did it. I ask because I may be in the market for a new vehicle next year. Thanks

I didn't - that was indeed the goal, but attaining it is of course impossible in all(?) US states. The closest one can get is not involving the dealer in price negotiation (use a broker or buying service), and not set foot at a dealership (some will agree to bring the vehicle and paperwork to you.) Both of mine were so-called courtesy deliveries, a process dealers have for fleet orders: the ordering dealer was out of state, details taken care of by broker, the truck was drop-shipped from factory to a local dealer for delivery and paperwork.
