From experience i can tell anyone that f you come up tp a slow stop you can feel the steering shell tug left right as the diameter changes. It almost feels like a rotor thickness variation, but still continues when you let off the brake.
Didn’t see this ...

I typically get about 80k on a set of tires with the F-350.. Those were getting there, which is why I wasn’t really hyper about the failure and glad it occurred at low speed a very short distance from home. High speed on the Parkway and I would have not been happy.
I know this isn't my thread but just to bring back up to make a point. Just today I had replace one of those BFG Rugged Terrain's because it was getting a bubble on the tread. I noticed a vibration in the rear after I had the rear pinion seal changed. I thought it was the driveshaft but hadn't had time to check. At almost 2 hours away from home today and I notice the big bubble. I'll be replacing all of these BFG's very soon. I'm just VERY glad I caught it in time.
Justin JUST bought these tires -- he's doing us all a world of service by telling us about them a couple months into owning them.... Thanks! But then again I was already in this camp...

Hey Scott, we looked at the date code, they were actually made the 3rd week of 2013. But they didn't have that many miles on them, 19,752 to be exact. I had them installed in January 2014.

My bad, based on your posts, I thought you were talking about a current purchase... Still, for me the BFGs are in my rear view mirror...
Ive been running the Cooper AT3 XLT tires now for about 1500 miles and so far i am very happy. wet weather traction is great. had some black ice the other day and the rear tires only slipped briefly and then hooked up. I have not had these in the snow yet so that review is pending.
I was looking at those and the General Grabber A/TX. I committed to the General's. I'm curious how they'll do with some more miles on them.
My buddy Lindsey (guy with a girl name) has them on his '01 F250 and uses them in the oil field. So far so good, I text him moments ago and he's got 40K on them and says they're awesome tires thus far.

Nice. I'm hoping these turn out to be better tires than the BFG's. Sounds like they will. I was just hoping I didn't make a mistake in going with them over the Cooper's. My tire guy actually recommended the General Grabber 2's but they don't come in 275/70-18.
The best all terrain tire I’ve had recently are the Cooper STT Maxx. Severe oilfield use on my F-250 and they are great. I have the STT Pros on my Excursion and love them. I had them rotated last week for the second time in about 7000 miles and the tread depth is only 1/32” less than when they were brand new and I drive my 6.0 like a bat out of hell. Surprisingly quiet for such an aggressive tread and wet road performance is crazy good.
Yes sir, those are great. I drive about 2400 miles a month on them on my 2014 6.7L 4wd F-250 and about half of those miles are on God awful rough and muddy oilfield roads.
I used to love the Toyo Open Country AT but they changed the rubber compound so that’s why Discount Tire quit selling them. I was also a BFG All Terrain lover until my last set on my Excursion were nearly bald in about 18k and developed sidewall splits. They also moved to some crappy new rubber compound.
That's a nice looking tread... And I already like Coopers... I think we'll be replacing the Michelins on the Expy soon -- more by time than miles, plus they have radial cracks in the sidewalls... Nothing this aggressive, but I'll see what they have -- I'm a fan of Discount/Americas Tires too....
