I did a search but wasn't able to find any videos or help the air gap issue on a 6.0 On my 7.3 the compressor was up on top and easy to reach. How do you get to the compressor on the 6.0?
Just for info I am having the issue with the AC stops cooling / intermittent after heating up.
I was able to barely get to mine from underneath the truck. I watched all the 7.3 vids and while somewhat helpful i found the 6.0 air gap a real test of patience because you virtually have no room to work with. And i could never get the ac clutch to lock up like in the 7 3 vid .
I finally used a large set of channel locks on the clutch hub to keep it from spinning while you back out the 8mm bolt that holds the hub on. A magnet is helpful to remove the hub end cap. Again you have very little room so its slow going to remove that one bolt. My hub end cap only had one shim and so take that out to reduce the gap . Good idea to clean the surface area of the end cap and clutch before reassembly and use a drop of blue loctite on the bolt.

yes I experienced the same issues. Didn’t help that I have large hands. I also used channel locks and only had one shim in there. Removed it and have ice cold air again. It was a real pain!
