Do you want to remove it to replace it? There will be an oval indentation in the tailgate with mounting holes beneath, so removing it for a clean, smooth look won't work.
To remove it, take the access panel off of the inside of the tailgate. That will allow you to access the nuts on the backside of the emblem,
Thanks JK for the reply! I believe I posted it in the wrong forum. If a MOD can move it to the right forum, I would appreciate it. Just to be clear, this is on a 2017 F250.. I have "heard" it is held on by double sided tape & 4 push in clips. Im just looking to remove it & replace it with a painted one. TIA..

You're welcome. The F250 tailgate is similar enough to ours that it should work out the same way. Good luck with your project.
This is what the tgate looks like with the badge removed on my '17 150. No bolts, just 4 or 5 trim clips, and a little double sided trim tape. I just warmed it up with a heat gun and pried it off with a plastic trim tool. Take that access panel off and have a look to be sure there are no bolts on the 250.
Those 2 round holes are for locating pins.
