Just how cheap do you want to go? If this thing is going to be street legal, it has to meet all kinds of safety and emissions standards. That costs money. If you want something relatively inexpensive that will go almost anywhere take a look at a UTV. You can go from bare bones all the way up to (relative) luxury. It isn't street legal and you should probably wear a helmet when crashing thru the woods but it will go places no pickup will, haul up to 4 people and won't cost a fortune.
Nope, no rumors about a competitor for those trim levels. But honestly, Wiggums has the right answer. You don’t need any special badges or marketing mumbojumbo to get a “cost effective” truck. Start with a base truck and build your way into what you want.

Does anyone have any inside information about Ford answering GM and Ram, call out for a less expensive offroad type truck?
Something like the TrailBoss or Ram Tradesman, small 2" lift kit, locker, real all terrain tires basic trim packages?
Not looking for a 70k Raptor, something I can take hunting without the guilt of banding up a 70k truck.
Just go out and buy a new or a Ford CPO 4X4 XL or XLT F150 and add said items you listed and you`ll be fine for what you`re looking to use it for. No reason to over think it.
