1994 7.3idi turbo 😍

Got a 94 idi turbo. Theres a little rust but it drives nice. Tows excellent. Starts instantly. At least a few of the injectors are hanging as sometimes it smokes unburned fuel at times. So I'm going to order a set of injectors. The guy that owned it just replaced 5 glow plugs that tested bad so that should be good.
anything else I should check? As far as I can tell it's a mint truck other than smoke at idle sometimes.

Is your new truck a F-150?

That's a nice looking truck, careful with new injectors as sometimes they just show that the injection pump is wearing down, I'm no mechanic but I think if I was fixing it for the long term I'd replace the IP and injectors at the same time (and the return lines of course) unless you know the history, that way I'd know that part of the equation is good for a long time to come,

get your injectors and pump from Mel or Justin. all others are junk................and usually cost more for that junk than a proper setup from Mel or Justin.
5 replaced glow plugs are only as good as the type glow plug put in.
if it does not have motorcraft/beru ZD-9 glow plugs in it, do yourself a favor and order 8 of them from rock auto and change them yourself before the aftermarket crap swells and then get stuck in the head after dying.
newer truck rims will not work. 99 and newer use a 8X170 metric bolt pattern which is different from your standard 8X6,5 bolt pattern. you need 97 and older rims.

97 and later F150, 98 and later superduty all are metric 8x140, earlier stuff is 8x6.5" not interchangable. Dodge and chevy used 8x6.5 alot later, but hub diameter is smaller than ford, can be made larger with a die grinder.
