got a '06 2wd single cab 6.0 that I'm gonna do a 4wd conversion on......
anybody know if gas burners have same ft/rear ends/xfer case as diesels? I can get a donor gas burner real cheap
if this is OT where does it need to be posted?
tyvm in advance
I don't know, but I think you're in luck if you can find a 4x4 gas, at least the metal part (not sure about the computer/electronics). I found Ford uses the same parts for gas and diesel when they can. For example, I found the AC system is about the same. The transmissions for 2wd and 4wd are the same, except the difference of a short/long end shaft (whatever that is called). However, let's hear what the experienced people have to say.
From what I read, it's just not a good path to go unless you really stuck. It's easier to sell the 4x2 and buy a 4x4 from what I read. You may want to search for this since I think someone already did it.
I bet the axle ratios are different. My 2004 has a big ole stick shifter T case, they offered electric and mechanical simultaneously if I remember right.

Been there, done that, sort of. Look up my experience from 2012, much of which made the forum. Manual Xfer case is the same for sure. Maual case and hubs is the easy, low complication way to do it. You’ll need a similar year model truck or your computer will not recognize the ABS. If you get everything from a similar year and use the donor front, rear, and Xfer cases, you’ll likely have no issues. Good luck.
