new member here . Have a 87 f-150 with a 302 liter . Will run fine for a while then out of the clear blue will start bucking --trying to cut off --have to give it a lot of gas to keep going .. Have to pull over --let it sit for a while --then its fine again
Last time it did this I ran it up to 4k rpms in third gear --went to 4th & it started doing that again-had to pull off road & let it sit for a while --then ran smooth again . Just replaced the ignition module , as I was told this could be the problem --Very hard to diagnose since it just does it sometimes .. Any ideas of what it could possibly be. Or what to check or replace next --The pip wire to the distributer that you set the timing by was pulled out --shoved back in the socket --dont know if this could be the issue or not .. Appreciate any help here .
Havent posted for a while cauase for some reason ,would not let me log in .. But anyway I tried to ck. codes by running a jumper wire from the lower left ( 2 input places on the bottom ) to the upper right port (where there are 3 ports ) .got just a solid ck. engine light --no flashing?. That was the right way according to the Haynes manual .. On a u tube video The guy plugged one end of the jumper into a separate wire plug that was not on the 5 plug one . What am I DOING WRONG IF ANYTHING ? tHESE INTERMIDDANT PROBLEMS DRIVE YOU CRAZY
