I have recently inherited my grandfather's 1963 F-100 step side that had a slight rear end collision and am wondering if there is a style side bed from any other years that would fit if I were to convert it over. I could always just find a newer or straight step side bed, but would really prefer to swap it for a style side for the look since I'm going to have to swap it anyway. Any info helps and thanks in advance!
Welcome to FTE.
I am not sure on your years of truck but if you find a style side of the same bed size, long for long or short for short, then they should swap.
Now not knowing how bad you flare side got hit or if short or long bed you might be able to do some horse trading for the bed style you are after.
BTW the Ford bed with fenders is called a flare side, step side is a chevy.

Thanks for the correction Dave, I've been a Ford guy all my life, and completely forgot. I've never owned a flare side and it's been years since I've had a truck in general. I'll have to get some measurements on the bed on the truck but it appears to be a short bed. I'm a bit worried as all I'm seeing for short beds in 63 were the unibodies. Hoping a later model short bed will work but I'll probably just have to get measurements and cross my fingers.
Finding a short unibody or any 61-66 bed in decent condition may be difficult. There are a few Ford parts suppliers who offer the later model replacement beds, which have a different pattern and may have to cut to fit. There are a few member's who posted pic's of there replacement bed projects using either flat or diamond pattern sheets of metal and cut to fit. I have a 65 long bed where the PO mutilated the bed to install saddle tanks and my last visit to the local metal salvage yard I came across a diamond pattern piece of sheet metal that will set perfectly in the bed.
Hi Febs. Flareside boxes and many of the parts for them are very rare. I looked for 10 years to find one decent enough to use in my restoration. There is a shop in Arthur Ontario Canada that makes an aftermarket box. 16 garage and epoxy primed. There is a guy in Reidsville, NC, Flashback F100's. 336-421-3979. He brings trucks and parts from Arizona and California. He may be able to help.

1957/60 Styleside beds installed on the following 1961/66's. Called the 'wrong beds' by enthusiasts, because the bed lines don't match the cab lines.
Wheelbase is of concern here. 61-63 = 114" short and 120" long. 64-66 = 115" short and 129" long The 64-66 styleside box is much better looking but will not directly bolt to the 63 frame from what I have read on these forums. If you have a long wheelbase the wheels will not line up in the rear wheel wells correctly but will fit.
