The bed sides on my truck are beat up to the point that I should probably just replace them. I can't seem to find any short bed sides. LMC and others have long bed parts, but no short beds. Does anyone have any idea where I can get reproduction short bed sides for a 77 f100?

Unlike the C10, no repro shortbed bedsides are available that I know of.

Buy a welder instead.
That’s what I was afraid of. If I go that route I may as well try to find a king bed in good condition and chop it. That may be easier said than done too.
NPD (National Parts Depot) lists shortbed sides in their catalog but they've been "out of stock" for about as long as I can remember.
Their lonngbed outer quarters are very good quality, I've bought two sets of them.
Unlike the Chevy quarters which have to be shortened both in front of and behind the wheel well, the Ford bedsides only need to be shortened at the front, a relatively simple job. Just measure twice, then measure again...and again, then cut.

I thought you had to remove about 4" behind the wheel well.

No, on fords the extra length is in front of the wheel well between Cab and Wheel well.
Also, I've heard horror stories of the quality of panels sold by LMC from a local resto/body shop. They had a bed, where customer already had cutdown LMC bedsides and installed, Resto Shop went to install the bed cleats, and just mild pressure from drilling the mounting holes put creases in the panels.
What is wrong with your bed panels that would require complete replacement? If it's dented, some quality time with several different hammer/dolly combinations will resolve that. I prefer trying to keep as much original steel as possible, to the point where I'm going to be using a factory front fender to replace the wheel lip in the driver's side of my bed.

Stylesides: The right quarter panel (bed side) is the same 1973/79.
The left quarter panel is 1977/79 only and there are TWO different types, depending on how many fuel tanks the truck has.
