I received a bunch of sheet metal for the cab and after tipping the cab on its firewall realized I still needed the rear inner cab corners. So here are some pics of what I am starting with.
I am planning on using the 1970 Mustang 22 gallon kit from CJ Pony in my truck. I understand a frame is needed to attach the tank to the bottom of the truck frame. Just wondering if anyone else has done this and if you have any pointers to make the job easier. Thanks.
The bottom lip on the frame has to be ground down so the tank can slip in if you want to slide it in between the frame. I made a sub frame and mounted it below under the frame.
I never tried, I just didn`t want to grind away on the inside of the lower frame rail. Also I think it`ll be easier to remove the tank if it needs to be later on.
I bought my inner corners and will be replacing both sides, the rockers ,as well as the front lower corners annnnd the floor from rear of cab to the firewall floor joint. Placed a big Summit order today with the 10% off coupon from the World of Wheels.
