Got our registration bill for this year, in Cali, $625 up $150 from last year, But I am already due a smog test, found out California doesn't give the 6 year exemption fpr new cars to diesels. Sigh time to move, but DW needs to retire first.
Yup every 2 years for the RAM when we had it, the Grand Cherokee eco diesel and now the F 250. The State really wants us to kill the diesel - as far as they are concerned no internal combustion engines. Just one problem - the fuel tax pays for the road repairs - and we all know how bad the roads have gotten in CA.

Hmm. Having lived in Hibbing, MN from 1988-1993, I recall the cost to register any vehicle 10 years old or older was $35. So the cost to reg your Excursion has doubled, but not tripled. We never had anything newer than 10+ year old vehicle back then, so I wouldn't know how to compare.
My 2017 F-350 dually Lariat Ultimate cost over $1400 to register here in NH where I now live. My current 2017 F-250 XLT cost over a grand the first year; dropped to just under in year two. We do have safety and emissions inspection, but fortunately any vehicle over 8500GVW is exempt from emissions testing. I just got my F-250 inspected today, cost $30.
You couldn't pay me to live in any of the west coast states, despite the beautiful geography.
Here in Pa., a class 3 annual registration for my F250 is $164. Annual safety inspection is around $30. We make up the difference by paying more fuel tax than any other state in the country.

Not neccessarily, there was one scentence in the bill most voters didn't read," and other transportation projects" and right now there is one project that is billions over budget and years behind schedule.

I was right there with you and had no problem with my Class 3 registration. Then I went and bought a 14,000# deckover and had to combo register it. Ugh, now I dread my yearly Class 7 sticker but glad I didn't go bigger to require the Class 8!
Slight Hijack / better than starting new thread maybe / already posted in Maryland truck forum but not much action over there......../ will post final results for anyone else seeking same advice....../ have already done some googling, still unclear....
Im seeking advice as to how to register my ( new purchase) F 350 Gas 6.2 in Maryland. I assume that checking the "10,000 lb GVWR package" when ordering the truck would be wise because it changes the door sticker / vin number down from 11,500GVWR ( or whatever is standard on 350's these days, correct ) ? What is best for insurance purposes? I will only be using for home depot / rving/ etc, not commercial , just household use.
And I guess I choose this ( below ) on the registration? Thanks for any help
