I try to start it when the WTS light goes off. I didn't know I was supposed to wait longer then that?
Do you have a multimeter? Put in on one battery turn the key to run NOT start, watch the current drop to 11-12Volts. That’s the GP’s energized, they will stay that way for upwards of 1.5-2 minutes. The voltage should jump back up to 13+ volts when the GPR shuts the GP’s off.
Next time you start the truck, leave the key on for 90 seconds before starting the truck. See if that helps. I would suggest also reading your manual it will walk you through this process. As I mentioned earlier, you can wire a LED to the energized side of the GPR and install in the cab, then you’ll realize just how long the GP’s stay energized.

I'll do that test. But I've owned this truck for over 16 years. Never had a starting issue until maybe 2 winters ago.
Thanks
That's a good price.,Do glow plugs where out with 200,000 miles? What I'm wondering is should I just replace them all and hope that fixes it.? Do you have a link for the valve cover gasket with the wiring?
Thank you

Look into the 50 cent mod. You take a quarter, grind it down to the top of his head, and shove the quarter into the UVCH harness clip to keep it from coming unclipped and dropping that bank of injectors.
Just one of those things that is so simple and easy to do after you've already tore everything down to do other work that you do extra preventative stuff as well. Like checking torque on rocker arms, lower injector bolts, and glow plugs any time you are already under the valve covers.

Okay thanks I'll look in to that one. I ordered the new Glow plugs, do you have a recommendation for which Valve cover gaskets and wiring to buy?
Gaskets are reuseable, if your truck runs good without stumbling from dropping injectors from a bad one leave em be.
If, Big IF, yours are bad, updated Motorcraft version. Doormans are cheaper but i hear the plug spacing is different and requires using their wiring plugs, and that they use aluminum instead of copper for the wiring.

My truck runs absolutely perfect except for this cold starting issue I just figured with 200,000 miles, and I'm installing new glow plugs. that I should replace the gaskets and wiring. I've had 3 back surgeries and don't want to have to do it over.
Thanks
