Unable to Resolve Sync Issue

Hi All,

Been awhile since my last post, but I am looking for a little assistance from the group and Ford Service reps. Recently I took my 2012 F150 in for service and one item of concern was some performance issues I was having with the Sync system. The Service writer told me there was no hardware issues and that the software version of Sync I had in my truck was older and that they could upload the newest version. I had them proceed and after receiving my truck back, the original issues I had were solved, but a new problem developed. For background info purposes, I have always had an iPhone and have had really no issues using my phone with the Microsoft based system. However, after the recent update, I have lost the ability to use the “Hey Siri” voice activated function of my phone while connected to Sync. For reference, I also drive a 2011 Escape for work with Sync and currently have a 2018 Escape loaner with Sync. Both of these Escapes perform as expected with the “Hey Siri” function activated. Use of the “Hey Siri” function has made my driving experiences completely hands free and eliminated Sync’s issue with confusing voice prompts. I am wondering if there is anyone else out there having a similar issue or using Siri in a similar fashion and your results. Also, if anyone could direct me to the current Ford Service rep for further discussion since Ford is telling my dealer essentially there is nothing wrong and it is my phone. Sorry for the long post, but I appreciate any assistance.

Thanks,

Jon
