No tach???
Moved in tuhder the ash so that when the trays pulled all the way it covers up numbers from about 2800 and up. But if I’m revving the truck past that I’m probably not gonna be smoking a cigarette. Closing the tray halfway can still let me sit a cigarette in there while seeing the whole dash. I used a green bulb cap from a aftermarket set of oil/ temp/ volt gauges to tint the inside of the tach a real light green. Looks good better than the natural yellow light.
But I don’t like it. It’s unoriginal, non stock, doesn’t match any of the rest of the truck, and hanging under the dash also clutters that area. But I work thetruck out regularly. Either pulling something or climbing tall grades at various speeds. I like to be able to actually see where the engines so I can make more educated shifts. For example, there’s a hill on my way home from work. Very very steep and winding. In a residential area. With a stop sign at the bottom. So coming up the hill I like being able to see that I’m just revved enough to make the 2-3 shift mid hill without revving the crap out of it, have to catch the high rpms as they come down, and being just necessarily noisy. I also like starting it on a cold morning and being able to see right when it starts idling good and I can go back inside. I don’t like having it, but I enjoy using the information it gives
