I must admit, my curiosity is up about the HP, TQ and MPG's that it will produce.

As Fat Diesel said earlier, there will be no comparison between the old 460 and the new 7.3 engine. The advancements in both gasoline and diesel have been vast.

I guess we will find out. If this is a dedicated truck motor (not saying that it is), then 16 valves makes sense for a large displacement motor that will never see 6K rpms.
Again GM and RAM have shown pushrods to be viable (and most likely cheaper!) technology for truck applications.

32v 7.3 pushrod with vvt nuff said.. No bulkie heads and simplicity of a push rod design with modern technology. I only could dream an engine like this put into production.

The article that I read speculated that HD trucks may not be the only application for this motor and brought up this could be the last generation of V8's for Ford. If that's the case, couldn't we wildly speculate a blown 6.5L Cobra? Perhaps this new motor will outlast the Coyote and be the only V8 left.

I would think it will be less than a 32V. You should see the size of the heads on my '09 Cobra with the 5.4 liter. That is a comparatively small displacement engine and the heads are HUGE.

You have to admit thought they have compacted it alot with the 5.0 coyote compared to the 4.6/5.4

Only thing that pisses me off about this motor is that it'll make googling stuff a little harder. I've gotten spoiled with only typing in 7.3 and getting the results I need.
