4x4 switch
where to start troubleshooting 2001 f350 diesel.
Wont go in 4x4 wheres a good place to start troubleshooting?
Electronic shift button?
4x4 light doesnt come on and 4x4 doesnt engage. Fuses good.

There are contacts down in the transfer case motor that control the dash lights. Since it's not shifting and the dash lights aren't working, you have a frozen shift motor or a blown fuse for it's circuit.

Not in it, it's mounted to the back of it next to the driveshaft with 3 bolts. For your model it's called the gearmotor encoder assembly not a shift motor.
