I need help , I have a class A motor home and want to put in a Temp. gauge on it . when towing a 14' aluma trailer with 2 motorcycles at 65 -70 MPH. for some distance of over 100-150 miles , I exit on a road , and the smoke starts to roll out from it . I let it cool down running at 45 mph for a 20-25 miles it's ok, I don't think I hurt it ,but I will if I don't monitor the temps. going to have trans shop put a extra cooler on it to help, but I do need to keep eye on gauge . So What gauges do you guy's use ? The motor home has a V-10

Thank's , Don C

Any gauge will do the trick.I run auto meter gauges myself.Good, reliable, affordable name brand gauges.Put your sending unit in the test port.
You want to see at least 160F temps here once up to temp (within 30 mins,or so) and preferably 170-180F all the time when up to temp but 200 to even 220F is safe.If she creeps up beyond this, you'll need an even larger aux cooler. If she doesn't come up to at least 160F then you'll want a thermostat to help it.
These are the ones I use:
Amazon Amazon
However, with a motor home in the hills of VA it's not likely, you'll need one.

Thank you very much . I bought a Auto meter gauge . Going to put the gauge on , and take it to a friend that has a transmission shop , he is going to service it and put the Extra oil cooler on it and hook up the gauge for me, then service transmission for me .
thank you for the information. Not able to lay on ground to do the work needed to do it. Motor home only has 23,000. Miles on it. Plan on keeping it for 10 more year's. Bought new. In 2005 .

Yeah.Good call on changing that fluid out.Who knows how warm it got and it could be broken down severely at this point.I've been to all the lower 48 and VA is right up there as one of the prettiest.Great place to own a motor home.

NEED HELP

Two 4R100 one with font speed sensor one without. Need help

My original transmission 2001 Ford Excursion has a front and back speed sensor.. The replacement tranny i found is identical only and i was told came from a 2002 F250 with a tail speed sensor only.. Can i delete the front speed sensor? What can I do with the harness? Tie the wires together?

The 2001 and 2002 have identical sensors. The new trans is probably an early '99. That transmission won't work. If you don't have the front sensor it's not going to work.
