I called my dealer in May about the rear camera recall for my 2019, 22S51, but was told they have been waiting for the parts and that Ford says it could be a months. Urgh…my rear is really blurry almost worthless.

The cameras/parts that people are putting in now are simply existing camera replacements which are basically what you have now. They are not an upgraded camera.

Basically old crap is being replaced with new crap hoping it will work better for a while or until the recall cameras are available.

I called again yesterday 7/18/23 the service advisor said they are still waiting for parts and there is no ETA of when. He believes or heard a rumor they are redesigning the camera hence the extended wait time for this recall. I guess their is not much we can do except wait…

2017 F250 Lariat ......... 360 camera system.

In another thread I pulled another part # for the rear tailgate/parking camera that someone listed (JC3Z 19G490 F ............. wrong). Does not work for me. The cable/connector is way different.

The correct part for the rear = HC3Z-19G490-X (this is the one listed in the document posted above)
Smaller local dealer told me it was backordered but they could get it
Larger metro dealer that I usually get my parts from simply said backordered

You can search online and find HC3Z-19G490-X at a few places.
(somehow double check what works on your VIN)

I replaced tailgate rear camera with HC3Z-19G490-X

It’s not the recall camera but a huge improvement over what was in there. I forgot the rear camera had so many view options cause I almost never look it since the view has been so distorted and horrible.

About $90 ($100 w tax) at dealership and pretty simple install. Glad I did it.

Update:

I just verified @ dealer

HC3Z-19G490-X is the recall camera.

My dealer is now performing the rear camera recall.

Hope this helps others waiting on rear camera!!
