Wink delete question

hoping to buy a 2012 6.7 150k miles next week after many years of driving gassers. my son's deleted 6.7 got me hooked. I would really prefer to delete emissions but not sure i want to hear straight pipes all the time. What happens if you leave factory muffler on? is it possible to Tee pipe before a muffler so i could fashion a cable operated dump pipe? Is there any other way to quiet down the jet noises when i need to be quiet? I would plan to tune it also. would that change my options?

I know its a weird question but i like my kids truck a lot more than my neighbors do
Thanks

Run a 4" with a muffler. It will be pretty tame.

Mine is deleted with a muffler, I'm not sure which one, and while you can tell it's a diesel, it's not loud at all. I'd say about 1/4 the volume of my 7.3.

I hear that a 4" flo-pro (stainless) still gives that nice little rumble and some turbo whistle without being obnoxious.

There's not a traditional muffler on the 6.7L. Just the DPF/SCR which acts as one. You can't delete and leave it on.

As others have said, put a 4" exhaust and an aftermarket muffler. It will be fairly quiet.

I deleted mine and left the factor DPF back in place. Slightly louder than stock and no drone.

Surely you're mistaken... You have to remove the DPF if you delete. Without a regular regen, it will get clogged completely within a couple thousand miles.

You're saying you only deleted the EGR and SCR and found a tune that still regens to keep your DPF clean, while removing the other two emissions components?

Ok, I'm with you now. I first read that as if you were saying you put the factory DPF BACK in place.

There is a small resonator or muffler, which ever one it is, I don't know, on the tailpipe in the down bend of the tail pipe. I've heard of guys running their gutted "rocketship" with a 4' straight pipe through it. You have to cut it in half. Then probably weld it back together. I'm sure it could work.
