Help With Gas Pedal

My gas pedal has no spring, when I bought it the spring on it was hooked up wrong. I cannot find a pic or diagram of what spring or where it goes?
I understand it needs to be adjusted because asit is now I have the idle turned way up just to run.
Any help appreciated!

I'm assuming from your name you're driving a 72. The light duty diagram is on the bottom. Hope this helps,
C

The accelerator pedal spring is shown as 9760 in pic at lower left. There are TWO different springs for 1972.

C5ZZ-9760-B .. Accelerator Pedal Spring / Reproduced

1965/67 Mustang; 1967 Cougar; 1967/71 F100/350, 1969/71 Econoline; 1972 F100/350 & Econoline before serial number P60,001.

I need detailed instructions how to install spring! Hard to get my head underneath the pedal to see bottom connections!!! Also I have Holley 2300 on other end that I like to connect to my stock linkage. Will you suggest some threads to help me chose the best way to connect said parts?

This might help: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...e-linkage.html

This is how I got the link:
I Googled "1967 ford truck throttle spring FTE"

This is the result: https://www.google.com/search?q=1967+ford+truck+throttle+spring+FTE&oq=19 67+ford+truck+throttle+spring+FTE&aqs=chrome..69i5 7.10774j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

If you look at the FTE threads you'll see a "More results from" option, you can click that and it will give you FTE paged exclusively. This is a good way to mine FTE for info without posting redundant questions.

I don't understand what the pedal spring and the idle turned all the way up has in common. Sounds like two different problems to me.

The OP is not asking about the throttle spring in the carb linkage.

The OP wants the spring that puts tension on the accelerator pedal, see 9760 at lower left in parts catalog pic.
