replacing the accelerator pedal pad

I recently purchased the accelerator pedal pad for my 1979 Ford F100 Custom Pick-Up. I am trying to remove the existing accelerator pedal pad. it seems that there is a pin that holds it together. also while trying to remove the existing a spring came off and I don't know how it exactly goes back on. any help would be greatly appreciated. maybe a diagram too?

The pin is actually a screw...

The spring is is positioned to push the lower half of the pedal upwards.

Once you get it disassembled it will make sense.

does the spring have a seat to sit in?

IIRC, the spring clips/is wedge on the back side of the pedal pad - under the rubber where it wraps around. LMC's catalog has a pic of it...

all i saw on LMC was picture of the spring. didnt see how it sits on the pedal. I ask because when I tried to take the existing pedal pad off the spring went flying.
