Also, what kind of problems have you had with it.
Just wondering.
Even our 21 year-old car has a latched door for the fuel cap, with an inside release.

During the first gas crisis back around 1973 or so, the issue was people siphoning your gas because they either couldn't wait in line for 3 hours, or they couldn't afford the gas, or both. After they put restrictions in the filler neck, that became less of an issue. Back when I was a kid, I heard about people pouring sugar, or whatever in the tanks as pranks. Have not heard of that for quite some time now.

If you look closely at the one showed on American Trucks, just the locking device and not the cover. I would find the time to research just the lock. It looks like a desk drawer lock and depth adjustable. It probably can be bought on Amazon or EBay for less than $20 probably 10. They show how to remove the gas door cover, now just need to drill a hole and mount it. You could buy a new cordless drill and hole saw kit and a set of cheap files for less than $130 at Harbor Freight and throw it all away when done and save $$$.

Not my neighborhood. I just hear people concerned about non-liquids put into the tank fill. I wonder how those pass out before the tank. I've had fuel come out when overfilling and pulling out the nozzle before it drains in, but not tried something solid.

I had one on both my 2010 and 2013. My 2 concerns where.. 1st, unwanted dirt and stuff getting in the tank, as the fuel filter is non-replaceable, 2nd, I have an extended 37gal tank and would like to deter people from stealing my gas(I know you can pry it off with a screwdriver). But the older ones do not fit my 2018 f150. The yellow plastic housing prevents it from seating properly.

Gas thieves today just puncture a hole in plastic tanks. They take what they can carry and leave the rest draining on the ground.

Yeah. That would be simpler. Besides, there is a restrictor in the fill tube that prevents you from sticking a siphon tube down there.
