I am eyeing down the barrel of replacing both rocker panels on my '04 X. BUT, I am having a hard time sourcing the parts. Inner and outer rocker panels are rusted through, and beyond repair. Does anyone have a good source for body parts? Really doesn't seem to be much out there.
I found on ebay (I know, i know) replacement oem inner panels for a same year but for a crew cab super duty. Does anyone know if the door size is the same and could be used on an X?
Don't be shy too if you have an X with no rust you would be willing to chop up and sell both rocker panels from front post to back post.

Check these guys: Mill Supply. I got patch panels for my old Outback from them. Worked fine.
Rear Ex doors are not the same as F-truck rear doors.
all the parts except the rear dog leg should be available. For a dog leg you will need to cut one off an Ex or hand make it.
Thanks for the heads up, I'm guessing the F truck rear door is shorter.
Since the inner rocker is flat probably wouldn't be too much of a PITA to add a little spacer
I had both rear door rockers replaced almost 2 years ago. The body shop that did the work said the rear rockers are no longer available, however, the fronts are. They ordered two fronts and cut them to fit the rear. Got to get the driver rocker replaced this Fall
The inner rocker panel for crew cab is one long piece. It goes from front to rear.....just like the oem excursion inner rocker.
The change is that the crew cab inner does not match the excursion inner at the very rear/end. The excursion has a 90 degree dog leg that goes up to the rear quarter inner panel. The crew cab inner stops at cab corner.
I recommend sourcing good unrusted used inner rockers. The fit is perfect and in the end will be much less labor. Outer rockers are readily availble as are a and b pillars.
if c pillar is bad source a good rear quarter panel and splice it in. Rear quarters are cheap if you find one with damage at rear or dents in it. I got an entire rear for about $200 because there was a dent back by rear dog doors.
NOTE: by purchasing a crew cab inner and a used rear quarter (cut at mid span of rear door) you splice the 2 at mid point to get a very good result.
I would prefer to find a good unrusty donor, but that is proving to be a difficult task. I'm slowly sourcing new oem parts as I find them on the cheap, and yeah the crew cab to X conversion on the inners is sounding like it may be a last resort. I will be sure to post pics of the progress.
