Different mfg and weight class but my wife's old Audi Q7 TDI was under suspicion for something in the emmission system after warranty. Dealership had told me the dpf was considered essential and covered under the fed warranty. The nox sensors which it had codes for even though it relied on them were not covered.
Years ago we got Chrysler to pay for a new cat converter on my wife's grandmas car out of the fed 80k warranty. She was only out by like 900mi. The dealer said no way they wouldn't help so we called Chrysler and they took care of it.
The fact that it's cracked and not just clogged it's worth a phone call.
