TGIF !! Short work week but sure has seemed to last forever. I bought some swivel box end ratcheting metric wrenches yesterday, come in handy on the transmission jobs.
She had the mustang first then she traded it for the truck. I told her we would fix it up and I did a few things to it but then she started talking about wanting a car so it was not a priority. No he is no longer in the air force. He has a lifted Jeep and he likes the truck so she now has a renewed interest in the truck. Going to mom in-laws after work to mow her yard and weedeat. They are leaving Wisconsin this morning and driving straight thru so they will be here sometime tonight.
Saturday while my wife is visiting with her mom and sister I can check tire pressures and oil levels in the motorhome, detail the Hummer and other various chores before we leave on Thursday morning. The extended forecast for Panama City is showing 60% chance of rain on Thursday but Friday and Saturday around 30%, you can never rule out an afternoon storm in Florida. .
I left Wensday to go pickup the pickup the mill got back today s out 230. 1700 miles in 3 days. Drove thru the storm system most of yesterdsay. The company builds 2 and 1/2 mills a week. Got to see the arch in Saint Louis did not stop
Sounds like the trip was uneventful, Hoping for the same when we leave on Thursday.
Installing a power point today closer to the drivers side window to power the tablets. One small tablet that monitors the aux brake system and the Ipad for navigation. Checking tire pressures, oil levels, etc, etc. Taking towels, sunscreen, non perishable food, and such out, wife wants to wash all the dishes. I bought an infrared thermometer for work but I am bringing it to check tire temps because I am pretty sure we will stop at least once.
Daughter got a full time job as a desk clerk at a local hotel!! Her boyfriend is a totally different guy now and treats her a whole lot better than the first time they dated. Things are looking up for her.
I saw some 10 ft cords at the truckstops. Start the ref. A day before you leave it takes a while for it to cool. Freeze everthing you can. When you yall start packing food remember thre will be a grocery store where you are going. What we do is pack enough for the travel portion except for things like cokes or water then picked up food when we got there. Dont pack the fridge tight. I am sure you will stop at least once. They can go the bathroom anytime, unless you and wife are going to do an in motion driver swap. You have to stop to go. My kidneys were set to somewhere between 50 and 80 miles.
Never!
The wife won't drive the motorhome, says it's too big for her to try and drive. I always drive no matter where we are going anyway.
As long as I don't drink a ton of coffee on an empty stomach I can drive for hours without stopping, trucker kidneys!!
Lexie has not driven the new Jeep not even on the test drive. She has never driven the truck saod the samething yors says. The tractor maybe a 100ft.
I usetobe able to go for hours not anymore
My wife is just fine with relaxing and napping and letting me take care of the driving. I am betting after this trip she will love traveling in the motorhome.
Tel you want to play" Let Make a Deal " I do all the driving you do all the setup and teardown we will alternate empyptying the tanks" i already know the answer same one Lexie gave me are you crazy- that aint happening

I would get the same response from my wife. My wife doesn't know what to do to set up or tear down anyway.
Worked my butt off yesterday. I detailed 3 vehicles, double checked everything on the motorhome and installed the usb charging port, mowed grass, cleaned the pool. etc, etc. The towed battery charger arrived yesterday so I am going to try and install it after I get back from taking my sister in-law to the airport. Thinking of taking half a day off on Wednesday to load the scooter on the rack, attach the hummer to the motorhome, etc, etc.
campgrounds get pissy when you drive off with their electrical system. Leave the steps out can get costly . Locking the steering wheel on the Hummer or setting the parking brake not good. Check the manual on the Hummer for the fuse to pull so the dash lights dont stay on or the switch may have a position that unlocks the steering wheel but does not turn the lights on. Turn off the radio.
People have done all that.
The steps auto retract when the ignition is on. No fuses to pull on the hummer, just turn on ignition one turn to unlock the steering wheel and put the differential to neutral. I installed the towed battery charger today so it will keep the Hummer battery charged off the the coach 12 volt feed, the aux brake uses an air pump to operate the brakes and I did not want to risk killing the battery. The tablet for the aux brakes has a checklist on it so I got that covered too. One of the tips I saw was to put frozen gallon jugs of water in your fridge when you turn it on to help lower the temp. I have 2 in the deep freezer ready to go.
The added benefit is as the jugs melt you have cold water. Look around the door some had a switch that would turn the steps off so they would stay out when parked vs in and out everytime the door is open
I have a switch but as soon as you turn the key on they retract. I was lazy yesterday and didn't do anything but install the battery charger. I was going to finally watch a race but the Brickyard got rained out, ended up taking a nap. Planned on loading some stuff tonight after work but the neighbor wants me to look at the AC in his tractor. He is the one that buried the horse for me so I have to see if I can fix it.
Ordered a small k cup brewer for the motorhome, figured it would be better than trying to brew a pot while going down the road. I have a thermos i could have put the coffee in but decided to get one anyway. I hope the work days go by quick, I am ready for some down time at the beach.
not lazy just relaxing. Country neighbors help each other. The step switch is what people forget when they leave drive off with steps out. The switch deactivated the motor.
It will be a short week
The day went pretty fast, the best part is only a day and a half left! I went ahead and started to cool the fridge down. The wife is grocery shopping tomorrow so I will get that stuff stored away when I get home. Loaded up towels and other various stuff that we have to take with us. Could not find the leak on the tractor, not even a sign of it leaking oil or freon anywhere. The steps on the old motorhome where manual so I am extra cautious about these.
