CPS question.
I guess I lucked out. Just came back from 300 miles out of state. Fired the truck up this morning and ran into town. Truck chugged and cut out. Picked back up and kept going. Did it once more. Stopped for a while and fired it up ran good, I got about 5 miles away from the house and it cut off and died. No start. No tach... Ok After about 4 minutes it would fire up and run. I could get about 20 to 30 seconds out of it and it would die. 4 minutes to cool. Start it up, Lay the hammer down and 20 seconds of throttle. Coast to a stop and repeat, and repeat, and repeat.... Finally got it back home yea!!! Put the old CPS in from the junk box and it runs great.
OK the sensor that was in there was black and had a part number 1821720. Guessing an aftermarket. I heard the new grey ones with the purple O ring are the better ones. Only Motorcraft I can find are black with a purple O ring. Just looking for a spare. Are those currently the best?? F4tz12k073c
