cps i hope

truck died on way to work,lost throttle, then just shut off. was able to restart and make it into parking lot when it died again. good ol ford has yet to leave me on the side of the road. i ordered new cps from ih and they delivered it on thier pickup run, installed it on lunch. truck is starting right up now and ran fine for 15 minutes. wanted to say thanks for all who post and share thier wealth of info and knowledge. i have been reading and reading and finally put this info to work.

That does sound very typical of a bad CPS. Mine skipped a beat on Christmas eve about 3 yrs ago then died just as I pulled into my in-laws driveway. Luckily I had a spare in the glove box and he had the tools.

I had CPS's die just like how both of you described.

so far so good, made it home after work and drove the truck around town a little, again thanks to all on here.
