90 f250

i'm trading in my 79 f150 for a 90 f250 with a 351, can anyone tell me of anything specific to look for to help ensure a good engine and do you know of any chronic problems with this engine.

Don't know if this will help but here goes. I have a 92' F-250 with 351 application. C6 trans. It has been a very good engine but I only have approx 110,000 miles on it. I have changed the oil every 3000 to 5000 miles since new. The only problem so far has been fuel related issues with the fuel pressure regulator. Nothing major. I am very happy with this truck. If I were you I would try to get any type of service records that the previous owner may have. Also, what type of trans does this truck have and what was the truck used for in the past? This could have a bearing on it. I have found that they will use a little oil when it is time for an oil change. Typical for a V8, as far as I am concirned. Bottom line, I like a 351 engine.
