Looking for a set of OEM side mirrors

I know these are from a few years back, but if anyone has a new set of D4TZ-17696-A/D6TZ-17696-A OEM side mirrors they want to part with, please PM me - ready to buy.

I really don't want to rebuild mine with Chinese mirror heads if I can avoid it...

Biggest problem with the repros is the poor plating (ask me how I know....) - best when they are brand new to detach the mirrors and clear coat the non-aluminum bits.

Thanks for the heads up. When you say detach the mirrors, do you mean just unbolt the mirror heads, or take the mirror glass out entirely and clear coat them? I haven't gotten repos yet, but I'm very interested to know what should be addressed when I (likely) do.

Thanks!!!!

Chuck

On mine the horizontal support for the mirrors and the door attachment plates are poorly plated. The mirror housings and the big U supports have had no issues..

Be aware that the span between the D4TZ-17696-A upper/lower brackets is different than D6TZ-17696-A .. Plus, there are FOUR other types for 1977/79.

Ford sold the mirror head by itself, but there are THREE different types of these.

Notice in the pic that D6TZ-17696-A has a 6 11/16" span, while D4TZ-17696-A has a 7 19/32" span.

If the span is different, you'll have to drill new holes for the lower bracket.
