38's or 37's

I have a 4" lift. I clear my 37's no issue right now (no rubbing at all, even at full lock). I am not sure of the offset of the rims nor do I know how to find out?

The tires I have are **** (https://simpletire.com/ginell-37-13....nclt199l-tires). They came on the truck when i bought them. I'd buy them again as they are so cheap ($1200 a set) but I have a line on some Toyo MT 38x13.5R20 that are brand new for $1600.

I guess my question is, which would be better? I have been told I should be able to clear the 38's no issue but not 100% sure. Also, the 37's will cost more which is why I wanted to pick up the 38's. Any advice is appreciated.

Keep what you have man. Why add more weight and get even worse mileage for not even an inch?

well I need new tires anyways. After 25k miles these ones I have are shot. I just figured if I could get 38’s for cheaper and they fit why not?

I would definitely buy the 38" Toyo's over the Chinese tires you posted a link to.

If the general consensus is a go, then I will buy the 38's. If there will be issues like WAY WORSE fuel mileage than I already have (12.5 average), then I will get the 37's. Either way, both will be the Toyo MT.

If you tell us the brand, model and size of your wheel we can tell you the offset and backspace. I'm interested in what it takes for 37s not to rub, as I'm going that route.

Off brands have bad rep and might even be deserved but I can say with no doubt the tires I have now ( Thunderer mt ) have held up way, way, waaayyyyy better than the Toyo mts I had on my old Superduty not even close. Two years old with nearly 40k miles and absolutely no signs of weather cracking, the rubber looks new still after a good washing. This is in AZ as well. Fairly certain I can squeeze 50k out of these tires ands that’s with missing a few rotations as well, might’ve hit 60k with religious rotations.

these have 26k on them and are shot. But I don’t do much driving. That’s 26k in 18 months from Los Angeles to lake havasu. I think the hot asphalt eats them up a lot. My Toyo MT I had on my last two trucks got 40k with ease

I'm assuming 20x10 and the 637. The only one that comes in 8x170 is a -18mm offset.

You could always crawl up under the truck and find the spec stamp on the back of the wheel.
