Automatic kill to the NEW engine when put into reverse
I have a 07 f150 fx4 with a new 5.4 Triton HD engine that dies automatically when put into reverse. Had a new engine put in when the timing chain broke and threw a rod. Had reverse before the new engine was put in,long story short the guy that put the engine in was a shooty ******, that took him 4 months to put the engine in and give it back to me without reverse so now it's at a reputable shop and it's been almost 3 months that they have had it, the guy found a lot of things done wrong, and is still trying to figure out why it dies automatically when shifted into reverse said he has narrowed it down to something in the reverse/brake circuit. Anyone got any ideas about what it could be.

I just read another similar posting thats a few years old on here where somebody else was having the same problem on his 05 F150 after a transmission rebuild. It ended up being the filter. He dropped the pan, determined that the filter hadn't been put in correctly, and after he fixed that, it hasn't been acting up since then. Also, did you try posting this in the forum for this generation truck? You will get a lot of hits there compared to here. Barely anybody comes to these new member psotings.
