Purple cleaner eats paint and asphalt, so be judicious with that stuff. I have a 5-gallon jug with 2 1/2 gallons remaining.

So since Friday my MPG has gone up from 15.7 to 17.5. Going to give it a full week to see where it settles, but it seems that I have increased my MPG by replacing my ebps, ebp pipe and cai.

Quick question for those who have upgraded their CAI. Do you hear a whooosh when letting off the throttle or when changing gears at low rpms? Also has anyone cut a larger hole in the intake hole by the front grill in order for more air to be sucked through?

Yes for part 1, no for part 2.

Although, I did cut a hole in the fender side of the AIS and installed the foam tube (waste of money for the tube, just use a shop vac pre-filter) and think it did what it was intended to do.

Thanks for the quick reply. Also wanted to note I feel like the truck has lost some low end power after the install (could just be in my head), but when looking at my boost gauge under my TP app on headunit my boost still hits 15.9 psi - 16.2 psi at wot.

Yes for for both parts. Since the S&B already has the "fender hole" the second part is done by default for us.

I did the zoodad mod many, many years ago. I know it didn't hurt anything but I couldn't tell you if it made a whole lot of difference. Yes, colder air from outside has a straighter shot to the filter but it's not like i needed wheelie bars after I cut out 5 square inches (or so) of material.

I also put a screen over the panel section that I cut out to keep larger things from traveling through there to the filter (as well as the intake horn also).

One of these days I might try the secret zoodad mod: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...out-water.html

My "secrete" Zoodad

Anything worth doing for air intake is worth overdoing.

I had to cut the header mat away to fit the AIS. I went ahead and did the secrete Zoodad at the same time. My IAT generally match up with outside temps.

So I just did a WOT run and my psi maxed out at 15lbs. Before I'd hit 16.1lbs of boost. Everything is tight on the boot as well. What could be going on?

You L-ightened up the truck by way of hacking the panel. No need for the extra pound of boost...just play'n..plug up redline to wg and see what you get

Unplug the red line from the wastegate and plug it onto a cac boot clamp. Push it the threads of the t-clamp bolt

I am glad I have the older version of the S&B. There aren't any of those issues with the power steering cap. I did the old Zoodad, I believe it and the 6637 were the very first mods I did after finding this site so many years ago...

Ok we are getting closer haha. So the red line is the one that goes to the air filter reader sensor? Cac boot clamp is? T-clamp bolt? New to diesels and trying to learn all the definitions. What is that mod called as I will look it up? Would def like pictures on what it means to plug the line on the boot.
