Has anyone had any luck getting rid of the backup camera guide lines? Especially the big blocks in the middle.
I don't mind the green/yellow/red lines on the sides but if they have to go that's okay.
I've tried changing the APIM data with Forscan but it didn't work using the numbers I found on a Forscan forum.
It's been a couple years since I owned a truck of that generation, but I'm pretty sure there's a setting for that. I just pulled the owner's guide, and I think I remembered this correctly. It should be in the "Driver assist" menu in your instrument cluster.
Thanks for the reply.
My "Driver Assist" menu doesn't have the camera settings.
I'm thinking that might be for a higher trim level truck.
The only camera setting I can find anywhere is for delay and that is in "Camera Display" on the radio display.

Interesting, maybe it has something to do with region, I recall having the option on my '13 a few years ago. You guys have a few different regulations up there than we do, perhaps this is one of them?
Good to see you're still around, by the way. I remember your expert advice helping me out when I first came to FTE fifteen years ago!
It's on the menu that comes up on the radio screen itself while the truck is in reverse. I found it by accident one day .you can't get rid of just the blocks (I mirror your sentiment there) the lines have to go too. Tomorrow if I remember I will get a better description, but if you go and put your truck in reverse, one of the buttons directly below the screen will give you the menu .
Tom it's been a while for sure.
bigdaddyII the only thing I see on the radio screen when it's in reverse is the magnify button. The other buttons do nothing
I just went out to my truck and I cant figure it out now either. I remember finding it by accident once just playing around and thinking it was cool but now I can't remember how i did it lol .
On my 2013 with the camera in the rearview mirror; Find settings on the display in the gauge cluster . ( where the trip odometers are)
Go to Settings-Drivers assist-rearview camera - Guidelines and then chose off. Hope this helps you
According to the owners manual To access any of the rear view camera system settings, make the following selections in the touch screen when the transmission is not in Reverse (R): • Menu > Vehicle > Camera Settings
