I was looking through the srchives and found a post suggesting changing the mounts on the compressor. While trying to diagnose a suspension problem I took a look at these mounts and they are severly worn. Unfortunately I cant find the post again. Does anyone have a source for these mounts. I called the dealer and was told that they are not sold seperately but come as part of the compressor. Thanks for the help.
Steve 923 hey guy from experience on the ford ride control systems the best replacements for the factory rubber isolators on
the brackets to mount the air compressor is two kits from a parts store. 1st is a universal rubber gromet kit [help] [motor mite red package] 2nd kit is universal o-ring set i bought both sets x2 &
spent like 5.00$ in the gromet kit i think there is 3 qty 3/8ths gromets to replace the factory isolators & in the o-ring kit the 1/8th o-rings i used inside the gromets to further dampen the
harmonics from the compressor. On the frame mounts my lincoln
continental became very noisy during the self leveling & as you
found out about no factory replacements i took it upon my self.
If you do all of the mounting points 3 i think from compressor to
bracket & then bracket to frame or fender the repair seems to be
superior to oem design also to keep it from getting noisy over time as you are installing new rubber lube them up with corn oil
not a petroleum based lube this would ruin the rubber in the long run.
good luck turbo ted
