Hello all.
The postivie battery terminal on the passenger side battery of my truck is constantly getting crapped up with corrosion. Its gotten to where I'm now missing part of the clamp because its been eaten away.
I clean them, put a protectant on them and still it comes back.
Whats causing this and where can I locate a new factory style clamp without replacing the entire cable?
Thanks
Steve
Or you can do what I do and not replace a failed part with an identical part which will fail the same way. Best bet is to cut off the stock crap terminal and solder on a cable lug, then give your truck a Marine battery terminal. They are much more corrosion resistant and this setup can be put together from your local Walmart for under $10. This is the same setup I have on my Expedition and my RX-7 and it's proven reliable with zero fuss for 10 years now.
