Cummins made re-power kits for Ford chassis bread trucks. Those Ford bread trucks came with 300 sixes, the cummins re-power kit came with the motor mounts, the trans adapter and everything to bolt in place. And guess what, the front frames of the Ford bread trucks are exactly the same as the Ford f150 trucks 1980-up. Finding one is the hard part.
The cummins adapter for the above setup is the small block bolt pattern, not sure why the zf small block pattern tranny won't fit? Flywheel problem or something?
I think Fummins makes adapters for pretty much Andy Ford transmission to 4bt.
Was looking for parts trucks here and just came across a 93 F-350 with IDI 7.3l, $12,000. A couple scrap trucks and broncs ranging from $1000-$6000. No box truck donors though.
last i check the 460-ZF5 bolt pattern is different then small block 300/302! due to the 460 being a big block and i only have the ZF5 for small block !
i know il be building a custom transmission mount and try buy the mounts for the engine from the conversion specialist
also debating if i should re do all the wiering wen i do the swap ! and pay 600$ for a new dash cluster with custom after market gauges (speed/RPM/oil preasure/volts/water temp/EGR/fuel level/boost/trans temp)
also all new sound system , i have no AC only heat but im already have to get a new climate control , the one in the truck is busted =..(
i see why i only payed 500$ for this truck !! also paint job was honorably done so need to re do it all ! would love a 6.9IDI swap over a 4bt but there also very hard to find i know a 12v cummins out of a truck around here is 2k for complete engine and 500$ for tranny's and 600$ for SD axles with suspension, right now my build is going slow due to looking for a job currently on E.I
meanwile i destroy my camper so i can rebuild from ground up my tiny house =)
If you pick the 70's axle, during your fabrication you will notice the pumpkin is awfully close to the front crossmember on the 80's frame. People usually have to run a small lift for it to clear.
Sometime later Ford went to coil springs on their f350's. I think they are dana 60's. Don't know if the coil spring pockets would line up with the f150 spring pockets or not.
tbh im not interested in 05+ axles i want old school leaf springs , and of what i research the SD axles if they are D50 well should be same dimension and same as if im bolting a D60 just not as HD as a D60 but will work so i think this weekend il pick up the SD axles and maybe start rebuilding them

Man, sounds like you need the truck I just ripped apart!
But really, I'd try to find a truck like yours and just do a frame swap..you're going to hate yourself trying to fab mounts for your D60. Even if you frame swap a TTB 3/4 ton frame you're still miles ahead of the game if you want a D60.
At that point you find a D60 out of a F350 and it's almost a direct bolt in.
the D50 is not a ttb its actually a SD solid axle like a D44 and D60 had a baby , i can order a RSK kit that will bolt it up just like a D60 only diffrence are the internals less heavy duty as a d60 but same shape and outside as a D60
well got my self 03 superduty axles D60 and rear matching but will need full rebuilds ! for free ! also got a donor truck a 97 f250 single cab long box with a 7.3 and 4x4 manual that recently flip and ditch and some how only the body went to **** and the rad and waterpump! so now this project just took a new turn ! plan now is full bullnose body swap ! get a RSK and insert my new SD axles going to A/C delete and try run the 85's climate controls setup prob try salvage the hydroboost powersteer from the obs just now im debating if i can run the bullnose interior but custom dash setup! might just try retrofit the obs gauge cluster into the bullnose dash and hack at the wiering isolate all 7.3 **** together on its own fuse box and the auxiliary stuff like lights/heat/wipers/sound system and what ever on its own fusee box and wiering!! also due to going to free up the frame from the body might sand blast the frame and fresh primer and paint ! also thinking 4" DP with 4" exhaust , full engien rebuild, E-fuel conversion , maybe stage one injectors and upgraded HPOP and if i can locate a inter cooler might also try fit it under the hood! she seen better days ! picking the donor in style ! started to take it apart! frame is all good! no stress marks looks like the body lift saved the frame hmm what can i salvage will need new radiator, belt, waterpump and clutch fan!
