I was towing my boat to the lake yesterday at 55 mph about 6 miles from home. Suddenly stereo dies along with Edge CS monitor then they both come back to life. The engine never missed a beat and had plenty of power throughout the electrical reboot. The remaining 70 miles to the lake and return to home was uneventful.
The truck is garage kept and has 110k miles. I visually looked over the ground wires and they were attached and in good condition. Battery cables are tight and also in good condition. I am looking for suggestions.
Thanks
Is the Edge CS tied into the same fuse/circuit as the radio by chance? I don't know how the Edge gets power, but I would be looking for common connections or circuits between the two.
Occasionally the blades in the fuse box can work themselves wider than what they are supposed to be. Again, look for common fault areas between the two devices.
The Edge gets its power from the OBD connector, stereo is off of a fuse that powered the factory stereo. I plan on looking at the fuse box and mounting when I get back home later today.
