Finally got everything done. Also at the same time had both drive shafts rebuilt added a 6.0 cooler and a original Denso starter from CNCFAB. During the tear down I discovered my flexplate has seen better days. So off to Ford to buy a new flex plate.
First impressions: Shifts firm not to harsh. I'm still breaking it in but the Precision converter definitely locks up much better then the stock one. Only put 60+- miles on her so far.
Can't wait to see how the 2K stall on the converter works with my set up. In about 600 miles.
Congrats on the new built tranny. When I was 4r100 shopping a year ago, the Wyse stage 2 was one of the options I considered. I ended up with a built unit from a reputable local shop for about the same the Wyse unit would have cost after the 6.0 cooler and installation.
good luck with the new unit. The guys on the .org speak highly of the Sam Wyse builds.
Now for some burnout videos! How cool is that Denso starter!?
Did you have to get tune revisions for the new trans?
That starter could spin the world around lol. Thanks to Sous for his thread on the Denso along with the hardware requirements. Which is the same for the automatic. As far as tunes Dan @ SDK revised my tunes for the Sam Wyse trans. He's running a Sam Wyse trans also. Also I heard alot of the tuners for the 7.3/ 4R100 are going to be revising there trans tunes. According to Sam most tuners are locking up the converter in second gear which causes the forward drum to grenade. Thought I would mention it.
Finally! Now you can enjoy the truck the way you have wanted. Keep us posted on how things develop and come together.
Thanks ! Looking forward to your T4 conversion. Don't laugh to hard. But I'm working on a deal for a complete T4 package/ trade at the moment.
More on that later...

I am not laughing in anyway and I commend you for continuing to try parts until you are happy with the outcome. Each situation is different, and we are all on a journey to find what works best for us.
I knew the KC was not right for me, but your goals are completely different.
Although, I will say though that in a recent Diesel World (maybe Diesel Power) there was an article about a by invitation only dyno shootout for 7.3 PSD's. There were 12 or so trucks, and all of them were running T4/SX-E setups except for one. There was a guy that set a world record just short of 1400 HP out of a 7.3 and he had a CSD T4 kit with an SX-E turbo.

A friend of mine totaled his 7.3 and bought the kit less turbo for a future install. I have some parts for a big block Chevy that his wants to trade for the T4 kit. I have zero cost into the parts I'm going to trade for the kit. All I would need basically is a SXE turbo. I'm still happy with my KC. But I like trying different combo's and could sell either kit once I have tried both.
I had a local shop tear both of them down completely. Sand blast replace the u joints with Spicer greasable u joints. Had the slip shafts gone thru and a Spicer center support bearing installed. And had both of them balanced. Also had them remove all the factory weights before balancing began.
Well worth the expense. Trucks butter smooth now at freeway speeds.
