Do the 15-16's have CAC failures

Is this a problem on the 15-16 models or just the 11-14? Just need to know if I need to be prepared. I had CAC issues on my 06 blowing the hose off when towing and I don't want to do side of the road repairs on my 16.

Yes, all models. Also it is a problem (will be a problem) for 17s and 18s. I haven't upgraded mine yet but I plan on it.

Mine has been fine, but I do have a backup just in case.

I've only had this truck for a couple months. My son works at a local diesel shop and looked it over when I got it. He told me it's about to fail. I carried a band clamp with me just in case. Dealer replaced it free of charge under factory warranty. It has 44,000 miles on it. It's a good idea to just replace if you see signs. Ford usually covers it. It's no fun to be hooked up to a camper and blow one. I have seen that!

Folks have reported failures in the upper 20s while some make it over 100K without. I installed the Rudy's upgrade to avoid the issue. Even the latest models still have the same cheap hose that has been failing since the 2011 model year.

x2 like SkiSmuggs. I installed the Rudy's kit as well for insurance. Didn't want to wait for the failure on the side of the road.

Bought the Rudy's kit today. I'll probably keep the stock setup in the truck just in case something goes wrong.

Tick Tick Tick Tick - Seriously though, some people never have an issue. The "if it weren't for bad luck I would have none at all" applies to me so I wasn't going to take the chance of being dead on the side of the road with my thunderbird in my trailer.

I've got 80,000 miles on my 2015 without any issue. I wonder how many of these blowouts were caused by excess boost pressure from tunes and other such modifications. I know one of the things they love to do is remove the boost limiter so they can get over 25lb of boost. I've never seen mine go above that level being stock all the way.

Well as far as I know, mine is completely stock but I would rather have the assurance than to be forced to change it on the side of the highway. These don't boost as much as my 6.0 did but the factors add up with temps and pressure and plastic parts so I'll ere on the side of safety. My 6.0 didn't have some of the issues that others were plagued with but I proactively corrected things anyway. Maybe that's why, maybe not. Who knows.

Mine was stock 400 HP, 21 PSI max, stock air filter, etc.. It didn't burst open like most (must have noticed it in time) but was cracked at both ends, down on boost at 96,000 miles and I could hear the leak.

Yes, the cold side is the problem, The hot side is metal. There has been one case on this forum that I am aware about where the boot was bad/blown.
