Tahoe Trip Temps
Just got back from a trip to South Lake Tahoe over the weekend and boy I wish I had stayed longer because the weather was cool and the water clear. Just wanted to check in with you as to what temps you see when making a similar trip. I was checking the EOT, Trans and coolant temps and everything seemed to check out just fine. I got stuck a couple of times behind RVs on US-50E and so had to slow it down and was not able to use momentum on some climbs. I noticed that during these times the EOT would sit between 220-230. Also the Coolant temp would climb to 213-217. At 217 the fan would kick in and promptly cool it down to 210-213. Transmission stayed between 165-180. On the highway doing around 60, the EOT, Coolant Delta would fluctuate between 6-10 degrees. The ambient temp on the climb was mid to high 80s. What do you think, these temps good? Also didn’t try Tow Haul on the climb just when descending. Would it have made any difference in the temps when using tow haul for the climb?
Not towing. It was just 5 people, the cargo area and 3rd seat were loaded to the top with gear, food, sleeping bags, mattresses and coolers and had a roof basket with tents, shade, bags, chairs etc.
