Just curious how easy of an install it was and how clean of a hole you got in the bed. The install instructions show a 2-3/4" hole saw for the puck bases. I got a 2-3/4" hole saw to multi-purpose with my current project and I am not getting very clean holes with it.
What hole saw set did you use? Does it have the threaded arbor alone or the pegs or spring lock?
Most of my hole saws are Lenox. The arbor I have that fits the 2-3/4" is the equivalent of their 1L. I will have to see if I can find the label on it. The arbor is from a 1-3/4" set. However, the threads are larger in diameter and fit the larger hole saw. The 2L snap back arbor I have will not fit the 2-3/4" saw (square spring lock, not the round peg style - threaded portion is too small for the diameter of the threads on the 2-3/4"). In any event, once the pilot hole is in I can never get a "clean" cut from the hole saws. I don't think the arbor has much to do with it, rather the cutting edge of the hole saw wandering around the pilot.
On a side note, my 1/2" drill is about max'ed out with the 2-3/4" hole saw. I have stalled it several times trying to spin it in metal - with cutting oil. What did you use???
