2005 no start

I was sitting in my escape and all of the dash lights quit working, the radio display went blank and the ac started blowing hot air. I shut it off and let it sit for a minute to see if that would reset anything. When i turned the key on the radio worked but none of the dash lights or ac worked. When i tried to start it all it did was click a lot but wouldn't turn over. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like a battery issue, the alt may keep it running once running but then the clicking on restart indicates a flat battery. A/C requires the engine running, not just ignition on.

I may not have been clear on the first part of my message, but all of the things like dash lights and ac quit working while the escape was running. I wouldn't think that would be battery related. You are correct on the engine needing to be running to have ac. I was just meaning nothing that shut off while it was running came back om after I shut it off and tried again. Headlights, dome lights, etc all worked. Just nothing dash related.

Ok so check what battery volts you have now. Check all the fuses and relays. If you still get a click when you try and start but nothing turns over then try jump-starting or replacing the battery with a known good one.

If I had to hazard a guess I'd think you had a bad battery cause the regulator to go too high, that blew a fuse or relay while running. Now its not running the fuse or relay is still bad so those items stay off and the battery isn't good enough to turn the engine over (but may still run the little dome lights...)
